This beautiful watercolor painting by Khyati Borah, a Class 8 student from North Lakhimpur, Assam, portrays a serene riverside scene at dusk. The vibrant red sun is setting against a deep blue sky, casting a warm reflection on the calm river waters. Lush greenery and palm trees sway on the riverbank, adding to the tropical feel of the artwork.

This painting beautifully aligns with the theme of WATER, emphasizing its significance in daily life and nature. The artwork not only highlights the beauty of a riverside setting but also tells a story of sustenance and harmony with nature. This was a part of an art competition organized by North-East India Water Talks and Gaganaba, encouraging young artists to explore the theme of water.

"Hello, I am Debang Kashyap from Guwahati, a proud Class 1 student excited to be part of this competition! The theme—WATER—is such an important and fascinating topic. I want to thank North-East India  Water Talks and  Gaganaba for organizing this event and choosing something so meaningful.

Water is the most basic need for every living thing on Earth—humans, animals, and plants. Without it, life cannot exist! Our bodies depend on water every single day. But water’s importance goes far beyond just drinking—it shapes our world in countless ways.

From rivers to rain, from tiny insects to giant trees, water keeps everything alive. That’s why we must respect and protect it. Let’s all promise to save water today for a healthier, happier tomorrow!"

"Hello, I am Darshil Kashyap from Guwahati, a Class 1 student. When I heard about this competition, I felt very excited to participate because the theme is WATER—a topic close to my heart.

Water is one of the biggest concerns in our society today. Many places face water scarcity, and we must understand how precious it is. Water is not just essential for humans but for all living beings—animals, plants, and every creature on Earth. By saving water, we protect their lives too.

If we use water wisely today, we can ensure a safer future for everyone. Conserving water is not just a choice; it is our responsibility. Let’s all come together to save water and protect our planet!"*
