Nayana Saikia, a distinguished alumna of Digboi College's Department of English, has been honored with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Volunteer Award for the year 2020–21. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, announced the award on September 16, 2022. President Droupadi Murmu presented the award to her at Rashtrapati Bhawan on September 24, 2022
